[UPDATE version 0.4 : First bug fixed ; username now under the title ; now works on the dashboard]

I updated the code on the URL so if you have the 0.2 or 0.3 version of the code you can replace it with the new version that now works even if there is no image on the post, it also displays the username under the title and it’s now also working on the “Dashboard => Feed” page :

[UPDATE 0.5 : Added a “Replies” button after the username]

I added a link to the replies part of posts, it also sort of fix the “Dashboard => Feed” page as you can now access to posts even if there is no “Read More” link.

[UPDATE 30 minutes after 0.5 : Reply/message icon was broken]

The webserver was serving the Ja vaScript as a ISO8859 encoded file instead of UTF8 which broke the “message” icon used for the reply link added on 0.5, it’s not fixed ; as no changed were made to the code (only to the webserver) there is no version bump ; if the message/reply icon is broken you should re-download and copy/paste the code.

I don’t use the feature so i don’t know how it was working but it’s supposed to show posts from peoples you are following or something like this?

The code on it seems to be quite similar to the front page so if you want to display the usernames it should be possible with only minor modifications to the script.

Exactly. Not only are author/user names no longer displayed within the feed, you can’t click on a comment unless it contains an image or video, or is long enough to exceed the preview so that “read more” appears.

I fixed the code to work on the dashboard (version 0.4).

I haven’t checked yet if there would be a possible fix for  the missing “R ead more”.

Tapermonkey is $1.99 for Mac/Safari. Is it worth $2 to get author names back? Maybe.

I’m still not convinced that this is a permanent thing. I think they are jacking around with the page layout again. I know there have been changes in the photo citation page.

It’s definitely not worth it if its only to use this script as it might not be working anymore very soon or simply be useless if it’s fixed .

But you can simply install another browser that supports it and not have to pay.

I don’t use mobile much, but I don’t seem to be having any particular issues with it. The fact that people are complaining about mobile issues is more fuel for my idea that they are screwing around with Kinja.

It works the way they want it on to on the main pages. All post are embiggened except for the KinjaDeals ads, and they don’t want the authors listed for those... They couldn’t care less about what we want.

Maybe I wasn’t clear - when “read more” appears (I’m unclear on just how long a comment in the feed needs to be before that happens), it’s the only way you can click & be taken to an image-free comment . Short comments? You’re shit outta luck, but at least your Tampermonkey script revision makes the commenter name visible in the feed, not just here on Oppo .

It’ s a bit awkward, especially when the lead photo is tall. Really chews up the available space on the page.

Also means we can’t highlight posts of particular interest that way.

Yes, it’s what i understood and i was telling you that i didn’t know if it could be fixable but the new version of the code (0.5) did in fact fix it while not even trying to as you now can click on the “Replies” button and access the post :)

My bad, it’s the web server that did serve the file as ISO8859 instead of UTF8 : T he “message” icon is in fact an UTF-8 character so it was not displayed correctly by the browser.

Should now be fixed .

I don’t think it’s the developpers fault, rather the management asking them to do changes all the time while not caring about breaking things and asking changes to be put in production ASAP .
